Denver Youth Actors Conservatory

Rocky Mountain Theatre for Kids Youth Actors Conservatories are pre-professional year round (mid Sept - mid April) training programs, designed to give the committed and talented youth actor intensive and specialized training in the performing arts. Focus will vary depending on the program but typically includes
voice, dance, character work, scene study, and production training. Our Youth Actors Conservatories are composed of more serious and committed student actors. All students must audition into the program.

Youth Repertory Munchkins (ages 6-8)
Wednesdays 4:30-6:30 & Saturdays 9:30-11:30am / late Sept - late April

Introduce your child to the world of theater in a safe non-competitive environment where both process and product are equally stressed. Students are introduced to all areas of the performing arts including voice, dance, speech and acting. The schedule will go as follows: Wednesdays are spent on introducing the basic principles of acting and rehearsing for our showcase and Saturdays are spent in voice and dance class. Two Showcases of Talent per year are performed by the troupe. The Showcase provides students educational and performance opportunities in a variety of roles, monologues, dance and vocal pieces, and scenes.


Youth Repertory Junior Company
(ages 9-11)
Saturdays 9am - 1pm & select Wednesdays 4-7pm (before shows) / late Sept - late April

This program will give students experience in the fundamentals of the performing arts. Students will receive training in acting, voice and dance and will prepare for a winter student Showcase of Talent, a unique theatrical montage of student work, and a Spring Musical. The schedule goes as follows: Saturdays from 9-11 are spent on exploring different acting modalities such as: introduction to scene work, improvisation, actor physicality and neutral mask work, 11-1 are spent in singing and dance class where musical theater styles will be introduced as well proper voice technique and contemporary dance forms. Only 18 - 22 actors will be allowed into this company, which requires a year long committee on the part of each actor.

Youth Repertory Senior Company (ages 12-16)
Saturdays 1:15-6pm; Tuesdays 4:30-6:30pm / late Sept - late April
In this company students will embark on an intensive exploration of character and actor movement technique, basic scene study, as well as enhancing singing and dance skills. During the first part of each semester, we will offer classes which the students will rotate through in singing, dance, and acting technique. During the second part of the semester we will spend our time in rehearsal building our show. We will perform a Showcase of Talent, a unique theatrical montage of student work, and a Spring Musical. Only 18 - 22 actors will be allowed into this company, which requires a year long committee on the part of each actor.
